Senior sessions are one of my favorite parts of the business. I love working with students and families and I am so thankful to be a part of documenting this wonderful time of memories and changes.

Your senior pictures should be as individual and as special as you are. It is my goal to capture your personality and interests in a beautiful way that showcases the person you have been the last few years, and the person you are becoming. I truly thank you for letting me work with you!

I find that senior sessions have some nuances and questions specific to these sessions, so seniors, this guide is for you!

Q. When should I schedule?

Fall in Somerset County is gorgeous. I schedule a lot of senior portraits in September and October. I've also been known to take winter pictures in the freezing cold! I've had some seniors wait for spring, or plan ahead in summer. So the short answer is, anytime! Please give yourself time for changing weather considerations as well as time to order prints for graduation announcements.

Q. Can I split my session to include two different locations or times of year?

I charge an extra $50 to add an extra location or to shoot on a different day. This is ideal for adding a sports session or a different season. I also have a studio in my home for a quick headshot that we can tack on to the beginning or end of a session for no additional cost.

Q.What should I wear?

I don't have a specific limit on changes of outfits, but please try to keep it reasonable and consider that some locations don't have easy places to change. A few different shirts can give you a quick way to add diversity to your session. Including sports uniforms or clothes that showcase your high school or college are great choices. Patterned shirts can be distracting.

Q. Where will my session take place?

There are so many great outdoor locations in our area. I have a few that I use frequently, but I am also very open to going "on location" to a place of your choosing, whether that be a family farm, a favorite fishing hole, or your high school gym. Let's chat and brainstorm some ideas!

Q. What should I bring to my shoot?

Plan on bringing a few changes of clothes as well as other items that have helped define your high school experience. Things like sports equipment and awards, a guitar, hunting and fishing equipment, and even trucks are all great ideas!

Q. Should I bring someone along?

I find that having a parent, sibling, or friend along helps the session to go smoothly. They can help hold your things, sometimes help me with lighting equipment, and overall, help you feel more comfortable. Having some sort of a buddy is highly recommended.

If you have any other questions or ideas, please let me know! This session is all about YOU and I'm excited to work with you to make this time memorable.
