1. People change. So fast!

Whether it is tiny hands, gapped teeth, or trendy clothes and hairstyles, things will inevitable look a lot different, even just a few months from now. Not convinced, scroll back through your pictures on your phone, on Facebook, or in a photo album and just wait for the nostalgia to kick in.

2. Schedules, both your and mine, fill up quickly.

Get your date on the calendar! When I wrote this article, it was June 3, and I was already scheduling with family for August based on when everyone could get together. If you wait for a time when life slows down, you may be waiting a long time.

3. YOU need to be in the frame.

Yes you, family documenter! How many pictures do your kids or your family have of you? You were there, now get some proof!

4. Picture day can be fun!

The idea of family portraits can send some people running, but it doesn’t have to be that way! I consider it my job to make having yours portrait taken a pain-free, enjoyable time. I want those smiles to be authentic, so I work hard for them.

5. Your family is precious to you.

While a printed picture is a tangible product, its value goes so much deeper, capturing the heart of who you are as a family.

6. Snapshots on your phone only get you so far.

I get it, technology has come so far that you are able to catch some really great images of your life. Great! I absolutely do not diminish what you are able to do with the camera right in your pocket. But….there is also something special about having a focused time where you let me do the hard work, and you end up with a product that you just know you are going to love.

7. You make time for the things that are important to you.

If something really is important to you, you must MAKE time for it. It won’t just happen on its own. It takes some work, but really, this one isn’t so hard, right?

8. No one EVER regrets having had their portraits done.

“I really wish I had waited to have those portraits done,” said no one, ever.

9. You never know what is coming around the bend.

Ok, that sounds a little heavy, and while that can bring up a lot of unpleasant thoughts, I’m also talking about things like job moves or growth spurts. Again, people, and things, change. Fast!
