Frequently Asked Questions

Welcome! I'm so glad you are considering (or have already booked!) a photo session with me. Here are some answers to questions that will help you to plan your session.

Q. What should I wear?

This is a great question! My number one suggestion is to make sure everyone is comfortable. From there, you have so many choices. A quick search online can give you suggestions for color palates, group coordination, or trendy pieces. It really comes down to what you would like. Some things to consider:

-What time of year are you shooting and will you be outside?

-A basic color, such as neutrals, warm colors (reds, oranges), or cool colors (blues, purples) is a great place to start. Then try adding a pop of color!

-Beware of loud or clashing prints, especially if you are doing a group photo.

Q. How long will my session last?

Most full sessions will last between an hour and an hour-and-a-half. Mini sessions usually have a time component noted.

Q. When do you schedule?

My favorite time to shoot is starting about an hour before sundown. The light is really great to work with at that time of day. Of course this changes throughout the year, but I'm happy to check into that for you when we schedule.

Q. What happens if it rains on picture day?

If the weather is not great for picture day, I will work with you to reschedule or find a suitable alternative.

Q. How many pictures will I receive?

For a full session, you can expect to receive 10+ edited digital files. I often do more than that, but I don't want to make promises I can't keep. Mini sessions will have a specific number of files included in the promotion.

Q. How long will my gallery be online to order or download?

Galleries will be live for a month after they are posted (usually about a week after the session, if it will be longer, I will let you know).

Q. How long do I have to order?

I do keep back-up files of sessions, so I can make orders long after your session. However, I recommend you order prints during the month your gallery is live because for most people (myself included), when you put something off, it tends to keep being put off indefinitely.
